This citation is presented to Russell Walker on 4 December 2024, recognising his longstanding contribution to the Dunedin Public Libraries Association (Friends of the Library).
Russell has served on the Friends committee for 12 years, including two years as both President and Treasurer.
Always ready to share his extensive knowledge with his committee colleagues, Russell is a pillar on the committee. Russell regularly undertakes special projects, including updating the Constitution to meet the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (The Act) requirements and helping to establish the Dunedin Public Libraries Heritage Foundation.
Russell’s dedication, collaborative nature, reliability, and outstanding contributions are hallmarks of his involvement in the Friends.
Dunedin Public Libraries is profoundly grateful to Russell, and to all previous committees, for their enthusiastic and ongoing support of the Library. The contribution from the Friends of the Library over many years is greatly valued.
