2001 Citation Details
This citation is presented to James Albert Dangerfield on 13 December 2001, in recognition of his contributions over many years to the history of Dunedin and Otago and to the McNab New Zealand Collection of this Library.
James Dangerfield’s principal area of research has been the history of our railways on which he has collected and written extensively.
Library staff, here and elsewhere, are indebted to him for his work in this area.
He has been a member and regular user of Dunedin Public Libraries for more than thirty years. He has always been prepared to help others by sharing his knowledge and the Library has been fortunate to be the recipient of generous donations from his extensive and wide-ranging collection of local history material.
