- Mon–Fri: 9:30am–5pm (Thu until 8pm)
- Sat: 9am–3pm
Book the Studio
Our recording studio is available during library hours.
- Users under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- First-time users need a short induction session for safety and confidence.
- After induction, you can book:
- Up to 3 hours per session (minimum 1 hour)
- Maximum 9 hours per month

Studio Guidelines
To keep the space welcoming:
- No food or drink
- Treat equipment with care
- Follow staff safety instructions
- Coordinators provide access and guidance, but do not produce or edit content

Podcasting: Condenser mic, RØDECaster Duo
Recording: Mackie 16-channel mixer, Clarett 4Pre, KRK Rokit monitors, Pioneer XDJ-RR DJ system, Roland RD08 digital piano, acoustic guitar, microphones.
Our Kaupapa
Taupuni Oro is a non-commercial recording studio for community use—perfect for podcasts, oral histories, music projects, and more. Beginners and hobbyists can record and mix through self-guided learning, supported by tutorials and occasional staff-led sessions.
Access is via bookings during library hours. Induction is required for first-time users.
