Christmas/New Year Hours 2024/2025

As we approach the festive season, we hope you’ll have the chance to take a well-deserved break and enjoy time with loved ones.

During this time, Dunedin Public Libraries will be operating under adjusted hours between 24 December 2024 and 5 January 2025 to allow our hardworking staff the same opportunity.

From 27 December only the ground floor of the City Library will be open. You can still visit the library, access free wi-fi, and there will still be access to all library resources that can be borrowed. Just ask our friendly staff and they can get it for you from the other floors.  The exception is our Heritage area on Floor 3, which is closed completely.

We understand some members of our community may be disappointed our services will be limited during this time, but please rest assured this is only temporary, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Mosgiel – noon 24 December 2024 – 5 January 2025

Port Chalmers – noon 24 December 2024 – 5 January 2025

South Dunedin – 22 December 2024 – 6 January 2025

Waikouaiti - 24 December 2024 - 5 January 2025.

Remember Dunedin Public Libraries does not charge overdue fees, and no items are due back during the closure period.

The last day of service for the Bookbus is 21 December 2024.

The last day for Home Services is 20 December 2024.

From Monday, 6 January 2025, all libraries will resume normal hours, with the exception of the Bookbus, which will return to service on Monday, 13 January 2025.
